Gaza City: The health ministry in the Gaza Strip, which is currently under the control of Hamas, revealed on Monday that the death toll from Israeli airstrikes and bombardments in the Palestinian territory had exceeded 10,000. This grim milestone was reached nearly one month after the conflict began.

The announcement of this staggering figure, which now stands at 10,022 casualties, took place during a press conference in Gaza, where health ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qidreh addressed the media.

Al-Qidreh reported that overnight, from Sunday into Monday, at least 292 Palestinians lost their lives during intense bombardments by the Israeli army. He accused the Israeli military of "perpetrating 19 massacres in the last hours" during these attacks.

According to the health ministry in Gaza, which is controlled by Hamas, a majority of the casualties since the conflict's outset have been civilians, with over 4,000 of them being children.

The recent war in Gaza was triggered by a series of Hamas attacks that began on October 7, resulting in the deaths of 1,400 people in southern Israel, according to Israeli officials. It's important to note that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict remains a deeply complex and sensitive issue, with international perspectives varying widely on the matter.
